By the end of this course, students will be able to:
- Formulate clear research questions related to Japanese culture
- Conduct research using Japanese and English-language sources by leveraging various technological tools
- Collect and document field data relevant to their research questions
- Synthesize and analyze fieldwork findings
- Communicate their questions, conclusions and process effectively in oral presentations
- Develop cross-cultural awareness and integrate multi-disciplinary perspectives in their understanding of culture
本授業の達成目標は以下の通り：
- 日本文化に関する明確なリサーチクエスチョンを設定する。
- 各種テクノロジー（インターネット、A.I.）を活用し、日本語・英語の資料を用いた調査を行う。
- リサーチクエスチョンに関連するデータを収集・記録する。
- フィールドワークの成果を整理し、分析する。
- 研究課題・結論・プロセスを口頭発表で効果的に伝える。
- 文化間理解を深め、日本文化を多分野の視点から考察する。

| 授業科目の概要 |
In this class, students will visit three locations in the Tokai region. Before each trip, a lecture will provide background information and help students establish a framework for exploration. Students will use this as a starting point for their own research on the site and its themes. Visits usually take place on weekends. While some guidance may be given on-site, students are generally expected to explore independently. After each visit, they will give a presentation on the information they gathered and related cultural issues. The three visits will be led by professors from different fields to foster a multi-disciplinary perspective.
本授業では、東海地方の3か所を訪問する。各フィールドワーク前に、背景知識を提供し探究の枠組みを構築する講義を行う。学生はそれを出発点として訪問先と関連テーマを自ら調査する。フィールドワークは主に週末に実施する。現地では必要に応じて指導するが、基本的には学生が主体的に調査する。訪問後には収集した情報と関連する文化的課題について口頭発表を行う。3回のフィールドワークは異なる分野の教員が担当し、学際的視点を養う。

Outside of classtime and fieldwork, students are expected to perform research and planning, as well as prepare their oral presentations.
授業時間およびフィールドワーク以外の時間に、調査・計画立案および口頭発表の準備を行うことが求められる。

| 履修上の注意 |
While transportation to some of the locations will be provided by the university, students should be expected to pay for public transportation to some of the sites. The total cost should not exceed ¥5,000 for the semester.
一部の訪問先については大学が交通手段を手配するが、公共交通機関の利用にかかる費用は各自負担とする。総額は学期を通して5,000円以内になる見込み。
